What owners learn from Jay

When a company is financially healthy, its owner can lead with confidence, its team can grow, and the families behind it have room to flourish.

Owners who hear Jay leave able to:

  1. 1Name the one person accountable for their company’s financial health
  2. 2Set a financially explicit goal and work it back to this quarter
  3. 3Spot the warning signs that their numbers can’t be trusted
  4. 4Find cash already in the business, using seven levers that need no loan
  5. 5Run a monthly finance meeting that produces decisions, and a calendar that keeps finance proactive

The story so far

How the mission took shape.

“Let’s see what you’ve got.”

At 24, two months into his first job as an analyst, Jay found himself the only finance person left after the CFO and staff accountant both moved on.

The owner looked at him and said, “Let’s see what you’ve got.” Six fractional CFOs and four accounting systems later, he was that company’s finance leader.

Order out of chaos

Jay and Cameron cofounded Prosper CFO to fill the seat those owners were missing. When someone does this work well:

  • Owners know the difference between profit and cash.
  • Pricing and hiring decisions rest on real numbers.
  • Waste gets caught early, before it grows.
  • Good businesses keep growing, and so do the jobs and families that depend on them.

That’s why Prosper exists: so businesses can create abundance and people can flourish. The Inc. 5000 company has helped more than 100 businesses build the financial leadership they were missing.
